Assembly includes rings, rolling elements, seals, and sensors such as ABS, using hydraulic press or induction heating methods. After rigorous testing, the units are cleaned, demagnetized, and packed with anti-moisture protection.

Key Materials Used in Wheel Hub Bearing Assemblies
#1 Bearing Steel (GCr15 / SAE 52100)
The core rotating elements of hub assemblies—balls or rollers and inner/outer rings—are primarily made from high-carbon chromium bearing steel. This material offers exceptional hardness, fatigue resistance, and dimensional stability, critical for long-term wheel operation under high loads and rotational speeds.
#2 Forged Steel or Cast Iron Housings
The hub flange or housing is typically manufactured from forged steel (such as 45# steel) or ductile cast iron. Forging ensures high structural integrity, while cast iron offers excellent damping properties, especially useful for NVH performance in passenger vehicles.
#3 Wheel Studs - Alloy Steel (SCM435 / 10.9 Grade)
Wheel bolts or studs are made from alloy steels like SCM435, heat-treated to achieve high tensile strength and toughness, conforming to automotive standards (usually 8.8 or 10.9 grade).
#4 Seals - Nitrile Rubber (NBR), FKM, or PTFE
Sealing components prevent water, dust, and debris from entering the bearing. Depending on the working conditions, seals may be made from NBR (standard), FKM (high temperature), or PTFE (chemical resistance).
#5 ABS/Speed Sensor Components - Thermoplastics & Copper Wire
Many modern hub units integrate ABS sensors. These components include copper wiring, magnetic rings, and thermoplastic housings (e.g., PA66 or PBT) molded with precision to withstand vibration and temperature cycles.
#6 Lubricants - High-Temperature Bearing Grease
To minimize friction and wear, premium grease is applied during assembly. It must offer excellent shear stability, oxidation resistance, and compatibility with the sealing system.
